New Jersey Peaches In Season


(TRENTON) – The New Jersey Department of Agriculture today reported that it is now New Jersey peach season and peaches can be found in supermarkets, roadside stands, farmers markets and pick-your–own farms.

“New Jersey peaches are healthy and delicious and available in abundance throughout the state,” said New Jersey Secretary of Agriculture Douglas H. Fisher.  “They are great on their own or used in baked goods and preserves.”

Borough of Paramus and the Board of Education cooperative project

The Borough of Paramus and the Board of Education SnapSports, in concert with Superior Play Systems, have recently completed a volleyball and tennis court at East Brook Middle School, with the great team at the Borough of Paramus’s Parks and Recreation and Public Works Department.

Sheriff Saudino Announces Arrest of Devin Hobson

Bergen County Sheriff Michael Saudino today announced the arrest of Devin Hobson (DOB: 07/23/1984), on Sunday, July 27th, 2014. 

 

At approximately 5:30 a.m., Officer Matthew DeBonis observed a red Toyota make a left turn from Passaic Street onto Linden Street in Hackensack.  Officer DeBonis noticed the driver make this turn at a high rate of speed, causing the tires to screech and the vehicle to drift, almost striking the curb.

No Survivors Found After Air Algerie Flight 5017 Crash in Mali

AccuWeather Global Weather Center -- 25 July 2014 --AccuWeather reports  an Air Algerie flight carrying 116 people disappeared from radar as it traveled from Burkina Faso to the Algerian capital, The Associated Press reported, as storms pushed south of the area of lost contact.

There were no survivors, French President Francois Hollande said.

Mayor and Council Meeting July 23 2014

Mayor and Council Meeting 07-23-14 Changed from Tuesday evening to Wednesday evening for the summer months, the members of the Council were available to visit the Terrific Tuesdays at the Paramus Bandshell. This led to a more relaxed atmosphere and an interesting public meeting. Veterans were hailed as great reminders of the people who have served our country in the armed forces. Veteran Officer Sam Casiello was lauded for his selection of military equipment and personnel who took part in the 4th of July Parade.

Unilever Volunteers In Little Ferry For Company’s “Community Action Day”


Employees from Unilever, the multinational consumer goods company, teamed up with Habitat for Humanity of Bergen County (Habitat Bergen) to volunteer in Little Ferry, NJ for their U.S. company-wide volunteer day “Community Action Day” where employees across 14 sites logged more than 8,000 hours of volunteering.

Unilever’s nine eager employees worked on sites in Little Ferry as part of Habitat Bergen’s Sandy Project. The team painted in three different homes bringing them closer to completion. Homeowners were grateful for their hard-work, positivity and overall efforts.

Paramus Awarded U.S. Soccer Foundation Grant

Funds will go toward the installation of synthetic turf soccer field at East Brook Middle School

(PARAMUS) - The Borough of Paramus is proud to announce it has been awarded approximately $62,370 in grant funding, through the U.S. Soccer Foundation, which will be allocated towards the installation of a synthetic turf soccer field at the East Brook Middle School. The Borough of Paramus is one step closer to achieving its goal of adding an additional synthetic turf field to its open space inventory as a result of receiving this grant award. Officially notified in May 2014, Paramus is one of ten municipalities in the United States to receive a grant through the U.S. Soccer Foundation’s 2014 Safe Places to Play Grant Program.
