Englewood Hospital Lends A Helping Hand To Help Combat Child Hunger


Proper nutrition is essential to building strong minds and bodies. Yet many children in our local Bergen County communities go without basic nutritional requirements on weekends, when free and reduced-price school lunches are unavailable. Englewood Hospital and Medical Center proudly supported the Center for Food Action at the launch of the Weekend Snack Packs program. The program aims to prevent the likelihood of child hunger by providing children with healthy weekend snacks to take home on Friday afternoons. read more

Stop & Shop Donates $1,600 to the Fairlawn Little League

The Stop & Shop Supermarkets, located at 175 Franklin Avenue, Ridgewood, NJ and 859 North State Route 17, Paramus, New Jersey donated $1,600 to the Fairlawn Little League to sponsor their 2010 season. Every year, Stop & Shop supports Little League Teams from New Hampshire to New Jersey. The contribution from Stop & Shop supports the Little League by reducing registration fees to a minimum level, assists with the purchase of equipment and uniforms and maintenance of the playing field. Bergen Community College/St. Thomas Aquinas College Sign Transfer Agreement

Bergen Community College and St. Thomas Aquinas College have signed an agreement to simplify the transfer process between the schools for criminal justice majors.

With the agreement, Bergen students graduating with an Associate in Science, Criminal Justice option will enter St. Thomas Aquinas’ Bachelor of Science, Criminal Justice program as juniors, pending their acceptance to the four-year school. As part of the agreement, Bergen graduates will have the St. Thomas Aquinas application fee waived. Students will take 55 credits at St. Thomas Aquinas before earning the B.S. read more
