Shake Shack Opens at The Garden State Plaza Shopping Center

Shake Shack at Garden State Plaza Near to the carousel at the Westfield Garden State Plaza Shopping Center, Shake Shack has opened its second New Jersey restaurant. This is also its second in Paramus, the hub of Bergen County shopping. Despite Paramus Blue Laws, the restaurant chain feels that the GSP is the place to be. Of course restaurants can be open on Sundays and Shake Shack has designed a location with access from outside on Sundays. Facing Route 17 makes it readily visible. Its nearness to the carousel will attract families.

Sekas Law Group Donates 300 Turkeys for Families in Need


(Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey- November 20, 2014) When Nick Sekas, Managing Partner of Sekas Law Group, learned that The Center For Food Action was in need of 3,800 more turkeys to meet the needs of residents within Bergen County, he jumped to action, graciously donating $3,000 to be distributed in the form of turkeys for families in need.  200 turkeys will be provided to The Center For Food Action in Englewood, NJ and 100 turkeys to Local Community Church - Fixer of Hearts Food Pantry in New Brunswick, NJ.

Girl Scout’s Award Project Benefits St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital

PATERSON, NJ [November 20, 2014] – After volunteering with 3 young disabled girls as part of her Girl Scout Silver Award project, Sabrina Qanaah (resident of Wanaque), acquired an interest for learning more about how to help those with Speech and Hearing disabilities. As part of her Gold Award project for Girl Scout Troop 70063, Sabrina organized a donation drive at a local community fair to benefit St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital, as well as an educational presentation at the Wanaque Public Library regarding Speech, Hearing and Language Disorders in Children, to help raise awareness. Her generous donation of games, books and other items will be used during play therapy for Pediatric Speech Therapy Services in the Rehabilitation Medicine Department at St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital.

2014 PBA Toy Drive

Paramus 9U Travel Baseball Team Brings Home Back To Back Titles

We laud Paramus 9U Travel Baseball Team.  Since July this team went 24-3 outscoring their opponents 181 to 25.  Representing the 8U Paramus Travel this summer they brought home the Lyndhurst Tournament Championship to give Paramus back to back titles and this fall they had a perfect season winning the NJSBL Fall Championship going 9-0 and outscoring their opponents 129-18.  This team was lead by outstanding pitching, timely hitting and solid defense

Berkeley College Appoints Katherine Sullivan As Chair, Nursing, School of Health Studies

Berkeley College is pleased to announce the appointment of Katherine Sullivan, PhD, as Chair of the Nursing Department, School of Health Studies. In addition to teaching a variety of courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels, Dr. Sullivan has written nursing courses such as Introduction to Transcultural Nursing and Evidence Based Research in Nursing Practice. She also has experience in many clinical environments at hospitals and medical centers, including pediatric and adult emergency services, pediatric and young adult same day surgery, adult acute care, and home therapy. As Chair of Nursing, Dr. Sullivan will be responsible for overseeing the Practical Nurse and Patient Care Technician Assistant programs.

Winter/Spring Registration Now Open at Bergen

PARAMUS, N.J. – Registration for winter and spring classes at Bergen Community College – including for visiting students enrolled full-time at four-year institutions and home for winter break – has opened.

For the first time, the winter session, which allows students to complete a three-credit course in as few as 10 days in the classroom, will take place at all Bergen locations: its main campus in Paramus, Bergen Community College at the Meadowlands in Lyndhurst, the Philip J. Ciarco Jr. Learning Center in Hackensack and online. Classes offered include general education staples such as English Composition I and General Psychology ideal for transfer to other schools. Winter classes begin Jan. 3, 2015.
