The Garden Club of New Jersey proudly invites you to attend "The Finest View", a Standard Flower Show, February 18 through February 21, 2010 at the New Jersey Convention Center in Edison, NJ. The show opens Thursday, February 18 at 1:00 PM and remains open until 9:00 PM. On February 19 through February 21 the show will be open from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM.
A Standard Flower show is the largest category of flower show allowed under the National Garden Clubs, Inc.'s rules and includes design and horticultural competitions as well as special exhibits to educate the public. Among the over 100 horticulture exhibits will be harbingers of spring in the forced bulbs and forced branches. In addition to the adult entries, the Youth section, "A Kid's Point of View", will highlight New Jersey Junior Gardeners' artistic talent and budding horticultural skills. Amateur and professional photographers are welcome to compete in the "Through the Viewfinder" section. Groups as will as individuals will compete in three distinct Club competitions
In addition to the many competitions, visitors can improve their gardening skills with classes on a variety of subjects including care and cultivation of tender bulbs; the propagation of the deer resistant perennial daffodil; and designing your own Victory Garden. For those who simply enjoy the beauty of flowers and natural world, there will be plenty of displays and artistic designs to feast the eyes upon. Take a break from winter and join the Garden Club of New Jersey at "The Finest View".
