Paramus July 4th Parade-
Nine o’clock signified the start of the 4th of July Parade from Century Road north on Farview Avenue and right on Midland Avenue to the Memorial School reviewing stand. In celebration of the one hundred years of Boy Scouts, the Scout movement in Paramus was recognized as the Grand Marshal. Many politicos, elected officials and hopefuls were in the procession. Despite recent knee surgery, Mayor Tedesco was seen walking up the road and greeting the Paramus residents. The end of the lengthy parade passed Heights Road at 10:35.
Paramus July 4th Parade -- Before the last few groups passed through, many residents fled the cacophony of horns, sirens, alarms and flashing lights generated by the Rescue Squad and the Fire Department. Their passage was indeed ear-splitting.
Regulars in the parade included Krause Candy and the Paramus Rotary Club, the various veteran’s and youth organizations, the Republican and Democrat clubs, Sheriff Leo McGuire with his Mounted Sheriffs, booth on horse and motorcycle, and our Paramus Police Department led by Deputy Chief Jim Sheehan accompanied by Captain Kevin Smith.
Once again the 4th of July Committee headed by Rich Siniscalchi offered the best of the town to Paramus!
