Fairway Market Says ‘You Tell Us; We Listen - Wider Aisles It Is’

Fairway Market
Listening to the comments of their valued patrons, Fairway Market recently underwent an extensive internal remodeling. This involved not only widening the aisles so that shopping carts could easily pass each other, but signage and product relocation as well. Although it meant losing one aisle in a store that has already proven too small for their tremendous amount of business, the Glickbergs listened and acted. They placed their customers shopping comfort first!
www.ParamusPost.com went on a guided tour of the Paramus store and was alerted to the many changes that have taken place. Although they lost some space, added to the market is a whole grain section and coming very shortly, a honey station; in another area you can even make your own peanut butter. By moving some items, Howie and Dan Glickberg felt that customer comfort came first. A simple thing like moving packaged bread from across from the frozen aisle to Aisle 4 in groceries was one of them.
As one walks down the spacious aisles, they will note header signage not only across the aisles, but along each aisle on the shelves and also the floor. In addition, they have posted employees in red aprons dubbed Customer Service Relations Specialists armed with the week’s specials brochures to help direct you if needed. They’ll help you in any way possible.
Color coding is another plus. Located on the shelves as you pass through, the color coding helps identify the general product area. You will know if you are in the organic section, the grocery section or, for that matter, any place in the store. While coffee beans are a passion and have their own niche, a new display of ‘on sale’ coffee is now located in the center aisle. Mark Miller, coffee department manager, is happy to explain the variants in making a good cup of coffee and which type of bean may suit you. Stay long enough and you can watch him using their unique coffee roaster; it looks like a steam engine front.
As one leisurely strolls down the aisle, there is room to bend over and look at items on any height shelving and to easily denote the price. Once again, customer comfort and satisfaction are one of the prime concerns of Fairway Market. Their motto is: Like No Other Market and they mean it. Fine product and you come first!
