Poodles, Noodles, and Snickerdoodles:A Book for Children about Healthy Eating

Many parents try their best to teach their children healthy eating habits, yet find that over time, their children become less and less healthy. For some parents, these unhealthy habits may start slowly at first, but they can quickly spin out of control. In Poodles, Noodles, and Snickerdoodles, author Kathy L. Raunikar illustrates just how quickly this can happen through the story of adorable, fluffy poodles that children are certain to love.
One day, the poodles begin to serve noodles with extra butter, which seems fairly harmless; however, the problem compounds when the plates of noodles are suddenly dripping with cheese in addition to the already-fattening helping of pasta with butter. If that isn't enough, the young doggies eventually work their way up to eating two dozen snickerdoodle desserts. The result of this gradual intake in high-fat foods is loss of energy and excessive weight gain. The parents of the Poodles pups wonder how this could possibly happen.
The parents in Poodles choose to do right by their puppies by teaching them good eating habits while still young, teaching them about the importance of the proper balance of meats, dairy, vegetables, fruits, and grains, yet they failed to understand how important consistency is. Consumption of the right kinds of foods in the right portions is one half of the battle, but doing so every day is also important.
Many parents can relate to this experience; fortunately for the poodle parents, as well as the human parents reading the story with their children, it is not too late to reverse the effects of unhealthy eating. By using a delightful story that is accessible to children, parents are able to convey an important message that they might otherwise have experienced trouble in communicating to their children. Loads of fun and valuable information await readers, young and old.
