Normann Staffing Services Our selection for a Paramus Business Profile was Robert M. Allison, CPC, CTS. Bob is a fellow Rotarian, well respected and well liked. His firm, Normann Staffing Services at One Mack Centre Drive in Paramus, is located on the top floor of the South Wing affording a beautiful vista of the Paramus Park Mall and the surrounding area. Their specialty: Temp help in the following fields:
Administration, Customer Service, Accounting, Health and Receptionists. The latter is a dwindling area due to automated phone service and voice mail. These receptionists also used to do Data Entry, but that is now farmed out among the remaining employees.

Bob Allison has two offices, one in Paramus and the other in Wayne. He has a brother with the first same name who has his Temp Employment business in Newburgh and Kingston. Not to be confused, his brother. Rob, has a surname of Normann, a result of Bob A’s mother’s remarriage and combining two families. We shall concern ourselves with Robert M. Allison and his profile. Bob joined the firm to help out and wound up owning it.

While Bob’s firm specializes in temporary help, they also get involved, to a lesser degree, in regular employment. In addition, there are some Temps who only work certain months of the year at their jobs with the same company. He explained that some of the workers like to take the winter off and go to a warmer clime, or take the summer off to enjoy the vacation time. Some of the latter are parents who have school children. Employment can be from a day to several years.

In an everchanging business world, Normann Staffing Services (www.normanstaff.com) has had to adapt to current trends. Networking is an important segment of selling the business programs. Towards this end, the company has purchased a new mass e-mailer program to keep in touch with their prospects and companies that use their services.

Among these changes is a new policy “Try them, you might like them!” The company allows employers to try the employees recommended by Normann Staffing to see if they fit into their working procedures. In order to keep up with customer satisfaction, the firm has about 10 regular employees and 100 Temps on call. After all, they are in the business of Temp hiring.

Our Rotarian, a Past President of the Paramus Club, is married to Kathy and they have three grown offspring. Chris, the oldest is in his 30’s. In his younger days, he was a big help to the Paramus Rotary softball team. At present he is involved in a firm that handles janitorial supplies. Rebecca, 29, teaches chemistry in the Mountain Lakes school system and is married. Rachel. 25, lives up in Boston and is an underwriter for AIG.

When asked about his hobbies, Bob answered in one word “Motorcycles!”. He owns two and has traveled extensively. It would have been easier to ask him which states and parts of Canada he hasn’t visited than to ask him which he had gone to. Needless to say, he and Kathy have traveled all over the eastern states and as far west as Wisconsin and environs.
