Mayor and Council Meeting May 9 2006

Mayor - Council 05-2006 Budget, budget, budget was the main topic of conversation at the latest Council meeting. Mayor Tedesco In deference to the anticipated discussions, the Council reports were kept to a minimum. Councilman Keith Zakheim set the precedent.
Council President Frank Ciambrone announced the D.A.R.E. school graduations dates (listed on our Community Calendar) and also the D.A.R.E carnival will once again be held at the Garden State Plaza during the last week of May. A Police Memorial service will be held at PPD Hdqtrs on Wednesday, May 24th.

Councilwoman Wagner gave a briefing on the Cultural Council and mentioned that there will be no rain dates. If it rains, activities will be moved to St. Athanasios Greek Orthodox Church on Paramus Road.

Mayor Tedesco announced that after much discussion, the beginning proposed budget would reflect a 12% increase. He empathized that this was proposed and not the final budget. The council hoped to pare it down much further.
