Sam Stone celebrates the 10th year of his ordination

Rev. Sam Stone - 10 Years in Ministry Sam Stone, minister, computer whiz, website developer, Rotarian and good friend celebrated his 10th year of ordination at a pot luck dinner held at Trinity Presbyterian Church on Saturday, June 10, 2006. Many well wishers attended and brought delicious offerings of their culinary skills. In his honor, we had a violin solo and 2 Gu-Zheng players entertaining the well attended function.
Pastor Sam started the event with a brief prayer and then the tables got up one by one to join the line for the food. Everything was well organized and nobody went hungry. Sophie, Sam’s wife was busy, as was Sam, greeting all the people and making sure that the youngsters were kept amused. Their son, Clarence, put ice cream into the punch, a floating delight. Desserts were offered in many forms.

When the palates were satisfied, Melody Ashby got up and performed a violin solo playing several songs. After that 2 Gu-Zhengs were brought in and Christine Yoe and Cassie Stone offered several songs which drew great acclaim.

Reverend Stone was then presented with two gifts from the congregation and friends, a goblet and a beautiful communion stole.

It was a great evening, a chance to honor a great friend.
