Bergen Community College and FDU Sign Transfer Agreement

Dr. Judith K. Winn, President of Bergen Community College and Dr. John Snyder, Dean of Fairleigh Dickinson University’s University College recently signed a formal Transfer Articulation Agreement for University College’s Liberal Arts programs.
Under the terms of the agreement, students who follow the prescribed degree pattern and earn an Associate Degree (A.A.) at Bergen will have met the General Education requirements— with the exception of two “core†courses—
for a bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts at Fairleigh Dickinson University (FDU)/University College: Arts • Sciences • Professional Studies located in Teaneck. Additionally, all pending graduates of Bergen who apply to transfer to FDU under the terms of this agreement will have the admission application fee waived.
“Today marks an important step forward for Fairleigh Dickinson University in recognizing the fine work that Bergen Community College does in preparing students for university level academic work,†said Dr. Snyder. “Our students are the main beneficiaries of this agreement.†Bergen has articulation agreements with 18 four-year colleges and universities and offers over forty A.A. and A.S. transfer programs.
Bergen Community College is a public two-year coeducational college, enrolling more than 14,000 students in Associate in Arts, Associate in Science, and Associate in Applied Science degree programs, and certificate programs. More than 10,000 students are enrolled in non-credit, professional courses through the Division of Continuing Education, the Institute for Learning in Retirement, and the Philip J.
