Paramus Rotary gives $51,000 Jimmy Kourgelis, the owner of Seasons in Washington Township, a member of the Paramus Rotary Club, stood before the group today and presented Saint Joseph’s Hospital with a check for $51,000. He and co-chairman Marty Diamond raised that much from the recent club golf outing. St. Joseph’s in Paterson has been very generous in their support of Rotary’s Gift of Life program and the chairmen felt that they were deserving of this largesse.

Jimmy, who has been a staunch Paramus Rotarian, has chaired the golf outing for many years. One year, in the past, they made enough money to purchase a handicap equipped van for the niece of one of the members. She was so grateful that a year later, she joined the club.

President Maureen Moran presented Jimmy Kourgelis with the President’s Award, a plaque, in appreciation of his dedication to Paramus Rotary.

Another highlight was the singing of the national anthem by Alexa Calendrillo, a student at Westbrook Middle School and the grandchild of member Terry Romano. A gifted young lady, Alexa opened the Cultural Arts presentations last year and will also sing at the town fireworks, the parade and the Cultural Arts presentation on July 11th.

Possessing a beautiful voice, she not only received the admiration of the club members, but also asked them to join her in singing. Alexa will go a long way with such an outgoing personality.
