Wahoo 2006
On August 6th, a hot sunny day, the Paramus Municipal Pool Wahoo was held. Diving was divided into 4 categories: 8 & under, 9 – 11, 12 – 15 and 16 & up. The day was perfect for them. Matthew Frohnapfel was on hand wearing a Yankee shirt and Mayor Tedesco introduced him to everyone.
Divers from other towns were present to compete and did an outstanding job. One of them was Kimberly Edson, a West Brooke student who has been the darling of the Community Blood Service in town. Kimberly visits there quite often to help her exist with blood donations. She was the subject of a tab donation program and, then principal, Bill Freeman spent a day atop the roof at the school to fulfill his promise if the goal was met.
The hotdog contest was held with Andrew Casella of Hasbrouck heights maintaining his championship. He also won last year. Megan Sherlock of Paramus won the female equivalent. It was fun to watch them scarf the dogs down, each trying to outdo the other.
There was a tremendous amount of goods to be raffled off, the funds going to Tomorrow’s Children’s Institute % Matthew Frohnapfel. Those wishing to can still contribute money towards his recovery.
