You don't say no to Auntie Anne's Pretzel's Diana Heller although you can get a

Auntie Anne's Pretzels at Paramus Park During a Business Profile interview with Diana Heller and Hank, her father, at Paramus Park Mall, I happened to mention a favorite place for hotdogs near Elizabeth. I had forgotten that Auntie Anne’s also has hotdogs. Diana asked me if I would like to taste one of their pretzel hotdogs. I politely declined as I also did their offer of a fresh hot pretzel. Before you know it, there was not one, but two hotdogs and a humongous drink set in front of me.
To be polite, I took a bite out of one sans the mustard that she offered. Hmm .. tasted good. Took another bite .. WOW .. before you know it, I had consumed both of those super delicious pretzel hotdogs, once again without putting anything on them. Priding myself on being a hotdog maven, having tasted all kinds of hotdogs including Nathan’s in Coney Island ( which I feel has gone downhill), I can attest to Auntie Anne’s hotdogs. They were great! Thank you Diana.

Speaking of Nathan’s in Coney Island, Hank Heller mentioned that his grandfather was in partnership with Nathan Handwerker in the early 1900’s. When Nathan decided to go into selling hotdogs for 5¢ apiece from a pushcart, his grandfather poo poohed the idea and backed out saying that it would never go over, that his partner would starve. Of course when one visualizes Nathan’s Famous today, we can note the display of misjudgment. Don’t we all make them?

While Diana takes care of their two Auntie Anne’s locations, here and Woodbridge, commuting between both locations, Hank takes care of the ‘behind the scenes’ operations. He’s the trouble shooter (not that they have many problems) but he does the paperwork, bookkeeping, negotiations, pays the bills and the few odds and ends that Diana doesn’t like to do; a true loving father.

He is well qualified having retired as a senior VP of Business Development for Chemical Bank. On the Board of Directors of the Greater Harlem Chamber of Commerce, he serves as their Secretary. Caringly, he is a member of the Board of Directors of The Bronx Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children, a member for over 20 years.

Diana says that if you would like a free pretzel, print this article out, bring it in, buy one and Auntie Anne’s will give you another pretzel free. This offer is good for the month of September.
