David Bennet Cohen's Blues Piano Workshop

David Bennett Cohen, Original Keyboard player for the 60’s rock band Country Joe and the Fish will be conducting a blues piano workshop on Wednesday October 25th at Sam Ash Music at 7:30 pm. 

Sam Ash Music is located at E50 Route 4 in Paramus. Cohen’s Workshop, known as “The Boogie-Woogie Institute” is based on his instructional books available through Homespun Tapes. Cohen will give examples of 12 and 18 bar blues forms as well as New Orleans funk and rumbas just to name a few.

This is a Free Event opened to the public and will include a performance featuring songs from Cohen’s Albums: “At the Piano” and “In the Pocket”.
This Workshop is part of a series of workshops being conducted at the Sam Ash Music stores in celebration of the Eddie Durham 100th anniversary Guitars.  Eddie Durham was one the pioneers of electric guitar playing. Eddie Durham was the first guitarist to develop and recorded on an amplified guitar. Durham was also the author of many of Countie Basie's hits.
