Fastest 'Game'
The meeting of the Mayor and Council was one of the fastest in their history. Council President Frank Ciambrone presided in the absence of Mayor Tedesco. Past Councilman Irving Gall lead the group in the salute to the flag .
Borough Clerk Ian Shore called roll and noted that in addition to the Mayor, Councilmen Rich Conte and Lou Romano were absent.
Presentations were made to the Alzheimer’s Association and mention was made about their Memory Walk this Sunday at 9:30 AM in Van Saun Park. Mark Ditsler and Ed Onorato thanked the group for assistance in trying to preserve the wetlands. (Access http://www.saveparamuswetlands.com for further information.)
Also present were members from D.A..R.E. who presented the Borough with a check for $10,000, a result of profit from the Carnival in May. The sum was lower than last year because of the inclement weather. To safeguard against this in May 2007, it will be held on two weekends.
The ‘Fastest Game’ sobriquet came about when Councilman Rich LaBarbieri sent an e-mail asking www.ParamusPost.com to publish an article. Within 5 minutes, he received an e-mail that it had been posted . the fastest game in town for news!
