Noted R&B vocalist, Vaneese Thomas will perform a concert, “Women of Soul†on Friday, March 2, 2007, at 7:30 p.m. in the Anna Maria Ciccone Theatre at Bergen Community College, 400 Paramus Road, Paramus, NJ.

Steeped in traditional R&B and Soul music, Vaneese Thomas—the
Memphis-born daughter of R&B legend Rufus Thomas—is committed to
preserving and passing on these traditions. The women to whom she pays
tribute in this concert are important in the development of the
southern folk tradition. Her soulful vocals and colorful stories are
entrancing and give insight into the roots of R&B and Soul. Vaneese
Thomas is a founder of Segue Records, the label of her latest release,
“A Woman’s Love†which showcases her distinct brand of sultry vocals,
tasteful arrangements, and outstanding song selection.
