Internationally acclaimed singer-songwriter Tracy Grammer will perform her evocative brand of folk/pop at the Fair Lawn Community Center on Saturday, April 7, 2007 at 8pm. Tickets are $20 per person and are on sale now at the Fair Lawn Community Center at 10-10 20th Street in Fair Lawn. For show and ticket information call 201-794-5372 or go to www.fairlawncommunitycenter.org.

Hailed as a “brilliant artist” by folk superstar Joan Baez, Grammer has been touring in support of her superb album, Flower Of Avalon (Signature Sounds 2005), which has been a regular on “Best of” lists and listener polls around the country. It was the #1 most-played album on folk radio across the United States for 2005.

Flower of Avalon is the first full-length album by Grammer since her musical partner and master songwriter Dave Carter died suddenly in July 2002. Carter and Grammer met in Portland, Oregon in 1996, and toured nationally with Baez in early 2002.

After releasing an excellent EP in 2005 called The Verdant Mile, Grammer has carried on Carter's legacy with songs that showcase her outstanding voice, guitar, and fiddle – what one critic described as “a careful line between alt-country and the more haunting archetypal songs Carter wrote so well.”

Grammer’s ongoing success around the United States, throughout Europe and beyond is a testament to the enduring appeal of Carter's songwriting, and her own amazing talent. Acclaim for Tracy Grammer has included:

“Tracy Grammer is a brilliant artist and unique individual. Her voice is distinctive, as is her mastery over the instruments she plays.” -- Joan Baez

“Her pure voice conveys the simple truths of these songs; her gifts as a musician are like that of a painter who is a master of chiaroscuro, offering light and shadow at every turn.... I was honored and humbled by the invitation to sing on this record.” -- Mary Chapin Carpenter

“Fans of Alison Krauss and Union Station and Rosanne Cash’s later, contemplative work should feel right at home.” -- Acoustic Guitar Magazine

“A musician and singer of dazzling versatility... [Flower of Avalon] unfurls as a portrait of an artist coming into her own.” -- No Depression Magazine

“Grammer is, in her own right, among the finest singers and musicians anywhere in folkdom.” – The Boston Globe

“It's a sheer thrill to hear loving, stylish renditions of quintessential Carter: joyfully wordy, philosophical, rhythmically playful and heart-plumbingly poignant.” – The Boston Herald

“Transcendent.” -- Rockzillaworld Magazine

”Heartbreakingly poignant vocals … touching lyrics.” -- Paste Magazine

“What makes this CD special is not the songs but the production, which is so decidedly different from anything Carter would have done, suggesting the direction Grammer's music is headed -- a nice mix of folk, pop and alt-country.” -- Minnesota Star-Tribune

Other performers scheduled for the 2007 season at the Fair Lawn Community Center include Steve Forbert (once hailed by Rolling Stone magazine as “the new Bob Dylan”) on May 11; and a typically exciting and inspiring performance by acclaimed husband-wife songwriters/performers, The Kennedys, on June 1.
