Certificate of Completion
One would think that leaving after 42 treatments of radiation, it would be a happy occasion. Yes, it was, but sad because of the leaving all those great people behind. They are truly wonderful in the way they respect the problems that we encounter and inform you that they will be there in the future for you.
I’m going to miss greeting Carlos as I enter, Zoya or Michael telling me to change, Zoya covering me against the cool temperature, Michael shouting above the noise of Tomo (the Tomotherapy machine) “Here we go!”, nurses Allyson and Joan, Dr. Gejerman and Kambam available to answer questions, saying hello to Linda, having a bagel or muffin and then saying goodbye to Carlos as I left .. knowing that he had kept watch on my vehicle in the parking lot.
Of course I have to go back in a couple of weeks for a follow up, but 42 treatments spread out over the course of two months does get to be a habit. At that time, Dr, Gejerman and nurse Joan Colella will be on hand to check on my progress. I’d say complaints, but Dr. Gejerman told me to call if there were any problems.
I’m going to get a frame for my Certificate of Completion!
