Of course I'm prejudiced ~ we know that ~ I'm a grandma ...

My grandson plays baseball for a Paramus Summer Tournament team. They are 12 years old and terrific! I can't believe how well they 'cover for each other' ~ they're so good at it! Brandon excels at 1st base and centerfield, and he runs so fast ~ ( maybe he should do track). When he pitches, Grandma cringes! Being a "lefty" he's pretty good; but it's such a challenging position, I feel.

Of course they do have their off days, as do the YANKEES ~ only these kids get paid an awful lot less than the Yankees players! NOTHING. NADA. NIL. NEENDA.

They play for the fun of it and to learn the game. Their coaches are terrific ~ always teaching them, correcting them, encouraging them so they learn the game of baseball, the way it should be played! I know they'll be great by the time they get to high school level! I can't wait! They're at Petruska Park quite a bit during the summer, and all over Paramus in the springtime.

My 10 year old granddaughter plays on a Paramus girl's softball team. She bats first, and catches (the smallest on the team ~ it's adorable!) Once while being "the closer" pitcher, (Mariano Rivera) she pitched a ball over the top of the batting cage! I was hysterical!

They are not quite "there" yet, although they are adorable and cute with their pink batting helmets. One most adorable moment was when a bee entered their dugout at a Hackensack game. That dugout was cleared out in less than a minute! After all, they are girls ~ cheering, eating, giggling, being girls and playing softball! And ya know what, someday they too will be terrific! I can't wait! Thank God for their patient coaches!
