The NJ Agricultural Experiment Station and Rutgers Cooperative Extension proudly announce "A Taste of Jersey Fresh," a farm open house and research tour on Wednesday August 29, 2007 from 3 pm - dusk.
The event will include opportunities to taste approximately 80 varieties of tomatoes suitable for New Jersey farms and gardens, along with a sampling of tomatillos and sweet to mildly hot peppers. The Melda C. Snyder Teaching Garden will showcase culinary herbs, ways to "downsize" your vegetable garden with container varieties, and a children's garden alongside perennial beds of deer tolerant plants and plants that attract beneficial insects, among many other demonstration garden beds. Wagon tours will be available throughout the event, highlighting NJAES and Rutgers Agricultural Research.”
