The Nemesis is owned by Carley Pesente. Pesente has been playing women's tackle Football for nine years and is also a professional heavyweight boxer. The team will be based on Long Island. In addition, veteran women's football coach, Andy Goetz will be heading the team. Additional coaching spots will be announced shortly.
"We've been wanting a team in the New York area for some time and we couldn't be happier that someone we've known for years is stepping up to make this team happen. Their logo is one of the best ones in our league and we are really looking forward to having them debut in our 2008 season," states league CEO, Catherine Masters.
The Nemesis will be hosting tryouts on an at need basis. "Once we determine where we are as far as our current roster needs we will be holding tryouts in the New York area to fill our needs as they arise", stated Pesente
"The New York Nemesis are happy to be joining the NWFA with our organization. We have a strong and veteran team and we look to bring the excitement of that team to the Metropolitan New York area and challenge for a Championship title in our first year. It's been a long road for this team, but were back now and ready to hit the road running," adds Pesente.
