DMR Architects, one of the largest and most respected full-service architectural firms in the New York/New Jersey metropolitan region, announced the completion of the 10,000-square-foot facility, which accommodates the services of both the Lyndhurst Board of Education Offices and Lyndhurst Youth Center.
“DMR Architects is pleased to have completed the new facilities for the Township of Lyndhurst,” said Henry Ossi, director of construction administration of DMR Architects. “This project marks the start of Lyndhurst becoming a leader in shared services throughout the state.”
“When the school board and local community share services/facilities, it helps both sides, avoid exorbitant expenses,” said Lloyd Rosenberg, president, CEO and founder of DMR Architects.
The newly built facility is part of an educational complex and is located on 9.4 acres of land at the corner of Grant and Fern Avenues on the same site as Lyndhurst High School. The building has been designed to complement the surrounding neighborhood with similar residential details such as brick, skyline height and window scale. Safe pedestrian walkways have been provided as well as separate and distinct entrances for each of the building’s uses.
DMR Architects also preformed work on the 120,000-square-foot, three-story Lyndhurst Middle School, which will accommodate a six hundred person, student body population. This project is another successful example of a shared facility for the city and DMR.
