CareOne receives coveted best practice award

CareOne at Hamilton Continues its Tradition in Superior Health Care with 2007 Win

Continuing its long tradition of raising the bar in senior health care services, CareOne at Hamilton has received the Best Practice in Staff Recognition award for the 2007 Assisted Living Best Practices Program. Held each year, The NJ Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS) Best Practices Program recognizes assisted living providers who have put into action practices that significantly and positively contribute to the quality of life of individuals served, and offers other providers the opportunity to learn from and replicate model practices.“It is amazing to see the quality of entries improve each year, and facilities that choose to participate in this program are highly motivated industry leaders that care about their residents,” said Pamela Z. Gendlek, assisted living program manager at the DHSS. “The Best Practices Program gives participating facilities the opportunity to truly show how they are raising the bar in senior health care.”

CareOne at Hamilton received the award on September 17 at the Best Practices in Assisted Living Seminar, held at The New Jersey Hospital Association (NJHA) in Princeton, N.J. In addition to the NJHA, other seminar co-sponsors were The Health Care Association of New Jersey and the New Jersey Association of Homes and Services for the Aging (formerly NJANPHA).

This year’s topic, "Staff Recognition: Programs that motivate & keep your employees happy!", centered around facilities whose strategies, policies and processes result in timely, appropriate, effective communication with residents and families regarding the social and recreation experience that make it essential to matching expectations with actual resident outcomes and needs.

"I am proud to lead a community where staff and residents genuinely relate to one another like family. Part of CareOne at Hamilton's Culture of Excellence is the firm belief that happy staff contribute in a positive way to the life of our residents,” said Staci Warsaw, administrator of CareOne at Hamilton. “Our residents reap the benefits of that approach every day. We are honored to be recognized by this award."

CareOne at Hamilton offers Assisted Living apartments for 65 residents with three levels of care, traditional assisted living, a secured dementia unit and an assisted living unit with extensive services, affectionately called EAL or enhanced assisted living. The center exudes an elegant, quaint hotel-like feel and has all of the warmth and comfort of home.

“Operating through a culture of excellence, CareOne is setting the standard for the rapidly increasing aged population,” said Tim Hodges, vice president of operations at CareOne. “We understand that it doesn’t stop with providing the best care to our residents, but also to our employees. Our Hamilton facility is one example among our many facilities that does it all flawlessly.”

CareOne is a New Jersey-based family-run company who has been operating skilled nursing and rehabilitation centers for over 35 years. With a focus on quality patient care and strong management principles, CareOne has developed a reputation as one of the finest, well regarded healthcare companies in New Jersey.
