DARE Carnival raised $60,000, Paramus Dare gets half

DARE Carnival The DARE NJ Carnival, sponsored and hosted by Westfield Garden State Plaza this past May, raised a total of $60,000 for DARE NJ, the largest drug/violence prevention and safety program taught in NJ schools. Half of the proceeds ($30,000) will go directly to the Paramus DARE NJ program. This was the third successful year of the carnival, which has generated over $100,000 since 2005.

The Paramus DARE program will use the funds to subsidize the cost for student events and will pay for new “fatal vision” goggles, which simulate the visual impairment caused by alcohol or other drugs. In addition, the funds will be used towards a new large screen laptop computer and projection system used for DARE graduation, back to school night and other presentations, and other various DARE related items including workbooks, t-shirts, etc.
