NORTHERN NEW JERSEY REGION OF HADASSAH ANNOUNCES 2007 EDUCATION
DAY: “GAZING THROUGH THE CRYSTAL BALL OF LIFE: OPINIONS, TRENDS & POSSIBILITIES FOR THE FUTURE”

The Northern New Jersey Region of Hadassah along with The Women’s Division of MetroWest
announce Education Day, Tuesday, October 30, 2007, 8:30am – 2:45pm, at the Gebroe Hammer Family Conference Center, Alex Aidekman Family Jewish Community Campus, 901 Route 10, Whippany, NJ. This year’s theme is “Gazing Through the Crystal Ball of Life: Opinions, Trends & Possibilities for the Future.”

NOTE: A new keynote speaker has been announced. Dr. Leonard Cole, an adjunct professor of political science at Rutgers Univeristy, is an expert on bioterrorism and terror medicine. Trained in the health sciences and public policy, he holds a Ph.D. in political science from Columbia Univeristy. Dr. Cole will speak on his recently published book, Terror: How Israel Has Coped and What Americans Can Learn.

Additional Education Day sessions include:
“Women’s New Roles in Orthodox Judaism”
“Autism --- What’s it all about, the latest developments”
“Reaching mid-life and awakening to possibilities --- a psychological perspective”
“Jury Selection – How is it really done?”
“Israel Encounter --- Hope for Peace --- An American Mother and her Two Daughters’ visit to Israel where they met with Jewish and Palestinian parents and teens seeking peaceful co-existence.”

This year, the Northern New Jersey Region of Hadassah Education Day will also include an evening session to be held at 7:30pm at Care One at Teaneck, 544 Teaneck Road, Teaneck. Rabbi Lawrence Troster of Green Faith will review film clips from “An Inconvenient Truth” while discussing the Jewish teachings about the environment.

Fee for the Education Day is $40 for all sessions including kosher lunch (provided by Petak’s); $30 for half day (morning or afternoon only) with lunch, or $18 for half day (no lunch). Admission for the evening session only is $10. For those interested in becoming a Hadassah member, annual dues will be reduced to $18 from $36 if you are registered for the Education Day.
