The Paramus Board of Health made arrangements with Walter Behnke Senior Housing Complex manager ‘Pat’ Whitney to administer flu shots to the residents. BoH Officer/Director John Hopper sent Nurses Paula Ortiz and Mary Lou Baldonocci over to the location, 200 GSP Blvd near Westfield Garden State Plaza Shopping Center to take care of the seniors.

Making sure that all the forms were filled out properly, Pat called them up in rotation while Ortiz and Baldonocci gave them their annual flu shot. With the two BoH nurses working together, they processed about 30 people, some infirm, in less than ¾ of an hour. They very efficiently packed up and left to go back on the road.

Paramus residents should be happy to have such a caring Board of Health.
