Young Leaders Program offers networking opportunities

The Young Leaders Program of the Northern New Jersey District Council of the Urban Land Institute (ULI-NNJ) is actively seeking new members to participate in upcoming events where they can network with some of New Jersey’s most influential leaders in real estate development and learn about the many projects under development throughout the state.
The Young Leaders Program, started several years ago in Houston, has grown by leaps and bounds throughout the United States. It is offered to those under 35 and now has more than 1,200 members nationally and 118 in the Northern New Jersey District. The energy, enthusiasm, and the increased diversity this new effort brings to ULI-NNJ will have a lasting impact as members gain a greater understanding of the issues that will affect development in New Jersey for years to come.
“The Young Leader Program provides the opportunity for the future leaders of our state to meet their peers as well as those who may become their peers,” said David Freylikhman, chair of the ULI-NNJ Young Leaders Program and an associate with Herrick, Feinstein LLP in Newark. “As we look to the future and prepare to pass on our leadership legacy, it is important to remember that the next generation is approaching land use with a far broader perspective than we had ever imagined.”
Program events held throughout the year offer a wide variety of networking opportunities and education sessions targeted to these rising stars, and more than 30 district councils have incorporated Young Leaders programs into their activities. The Young Leaders program is one way ULI-NNJ hopes to become more inclusive and less exclusive.
