Chevy Car Show
On Sunday, October 21st, the Paramus Rescue Squad, Firestone and the Class Glass Corvette Association held a semi annual car show at the Westfield Garden State Plaza Shopping Center parking lot. Chevy’s began piling in before the 9 AM start and will show until 3 PM.
Lieutenant Joe Hamlin of the Paramus Rescue Squad and Peter Pecoraro, president of the Paramus Volunteer Rescue Squad were kind enough to fill me in on the show and the way that the money would be expended. They [posed beside a 1952 Red Chevy Suburban which they are restoring so that it can be taken to the students in the Paramus School system and displayed. The balance of the monies goes to training and equipment.
We had fun posing a picture in front of Firestone/Bridgestone’s display as Joe assembled a troupe displaying the tires that Joe sells in his Elmwood Park store and the company owned Corvettes. Joe’s daughter was there from Paramus High School and her group posed at their display table where they were offering Paramus High shirts at reasonable prices.
Attendees were allowed to rate the vehicles displayed and even purchase some of the display models. Corvettes were ranked according to years which went from 1953 to present day and parked according to classification. Chevy’s went from Early Iron, Full Size, Chevelle, Camarro, Nova, Trucks, Open and Street Rod.
Rescue Squad Chief, John Pecoraro was busy throughout the entire show.
