Democrat Council Incumbents Reelected

Election It was a jubilant group that accepted the final numbers posted by Mike Blitzstein Democratic Committee president. Councilmen Rich Conte and Rich LaBarbiera were reelected. The key theme, as stressed by Mayor James Tedesco, was that they ran a clean campaign despite the opposition. Not only did they have to engage the Council candidate opposition, but also the local media.
The unofficial totals were: 2865 for Conte, 2873 for LaBarbiera, 2638 for Casiello and 2614 for Mariniello. Although not a runaway election, the vote was decisive. As of this time, County and State figures were not available.

Blitzstein was lauded for his efforts in the campaign. He was out there every pre-election night urging the incumbents to take that extra step, that extra visit, that extra hello. Senator Joe Coniglio not only praised Blitzstein but the efforts exerted by the Tedesco Team.

Conte and LaBarbiera thanked everyone for their support and for getting them re-elected.
