Carol Falleni Otis, of Teaneck, has been appointed to the Bergen Community College Board of Trustees. She was officially sworn in at the November 7, 2007 board meeting.
In addition to teaching, she also co-edited the textbook World of Food and wrote the "New Jersey Family, Career and Community Leaders of America Adviser Handbook 2000."
Ms. Otis has presented workshops at Family and Consumer Sciences Professional Conferences. She is also a member of a variety of professional and community organizations. Ms. Otis currently serves as treasurer of the New Jersey Association of Family and Consumer Sciences and Educators of Family and Consumer Sciences - New Jersey and is chairperson of the Community Scholarship Fund of Teaneck.
She is a graduate of Douglass College, New Brunswick (B.S.) and the Rutgers Graduate School of Education, New Brunswick (M.Ed.). Ms. Otis has also received post graduate credits from Fairleigh Dickinson University, Jersey City State University, and Rutgers University. She has been honored with numerous accolades including the National Family, Career and Community Leaders of America Distinguished Service Award and has been elected to Who's Who Among American Teachers seven times.
