Bergen County Executive Dennis McNerney today recognized the winners of the second annual County Calendar Photo Contest. This year’s theme was Bergen in Action.
“Residents will be able to adorn their kitchen and bedroom walls with photographs of our county’s most active scenes,” said McNerney. “With so much talent among our residents, it’s possible that we may discover the next Ansel Adams or Annie Leibovitz in Bergen County.”
Thirteen photographs are featured in the 2008 Bergen County calendar. All of the submissions were reviewed carefully for image quality and their significance to Bergen County. The winning photographs focused on a variety of county sites and activities throughout the 70 municipalities that capture the essence of Bergen County.
The winners are: Dotty Waxman from Teaneck, Anna Haverilla from Old Tappan, Maria Careri from Rochelle Park, Tracy Stern from Mahwah, Rory Sutherland from Hackensack, Curt Schlenker from River Vale, Barbara Novak from Rutherford, Ed Kaminski from Maywood, Farrell Kramer from Closter, Michael Randazzo from New Milford, Douglas Salvatoriello from Glen Rock, and John Baumgartner from North Haledon.
“Our calendar contest winners submitted photographs that represent the best of Bergen County,” said McNerney. “Their images offer a picturesque view of this part of the region.”
Copies of the 2008 Bergen County calendar have been distributed to municipal town halls, libraries, and senior centers. They are also available in the lobby of the county administration building in Hackensack.
