2 – 5 YEARS OLD SURE TO HAVE A FABULOUS SUMMER OF 2008
The Fair Lawn Jewish Center/Congregation B’nai Israel is proud to announce that Randi Paul-Heskins has been named Director of “Little Sunshine Day Camp.” The summer program is held at the Synagogue for 2 – 5 year olds every year and is open to both Synagogue and non-Synagogue members.
Paul-Heskins has been an integral part of the FLJC/CBI for many years serving as Chairperson of the FLJC Nursery School Committee, Chair of the FLJC Nursery School Director Search Committee and member of the Synagogue’s Education Committee. She was also active in Fair Lawn’s public schools as PTA Membership Vice President. “I look forward to building on my experience as a parent having two daughters attend ‘Little Sunshine Day Camp’ as both campers and counselors,” she notes. “It’s sure to be a great summer experience for the youngsters and parents alike.”
With a fun summer 2008 in the works, Paul-Heskins feels that summer is for play and relaxation. “Even young children need some time off from their routine. At ‘Little Sunshine Day Camp,’ they can expect to have a lot of fun playing and socializing with other children their age in a loving atmosphere.”
Each day, the children can look forward to making an art project and even learning a new song. There will always be an opportunity to play on the playground and in our wading pools as weather permits. Every week, the children can look forward to special visits by FLJC/CBI Rabbi Ronald Roth and Cantor Eric Wasser to share Shabbat or talk about a special subject.
This year children can “Grow their own Lunch” at camp by nurturing a vegetable garden and “enjoying the fruits (well, the vegetables) of our labors.” The special calendar will include favorites from past summers including The Fun Bus, pony rides, Stretch the Silly Man and more. Since not all days are right for outdoor play, there will be a wealth of extra special activities for those days when it is too hot or too wet to be outside. “We’ll be limited only by our imaginations,” continues Paul-Heskins.
