When you call. We are there!
Reflecting back to 2007 we responded just fewer than 1100 emergencies, ranging from minor incidents to potentially dangerous situations. This required over 14,000 hours of volunteer service.
Located directly across from the Paramus Police Department on Carlough Drive, the Paramus Volunteer Rescue Squad, Inc. is an organization that is always ready to serve you, the residents and businesses of the Borough of Paramus. At a time when it is getting harder for people to be able to volunteer their time to be on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, your support of those that do becomes that much more appreciated. We are proud to still be an ALL-VOLUNTEER emergency service.
Paramus Rescue members are required to attain certifications in First Responder and CPR; undergo Rescue training, a 100 hour course; Hazardous Materials training, Confined Space training; and attend classes on Incident Command. Many of our members further their training by becoming EMT’s and taking Fire Fighter courses. These courses require the full devotion of all members of the Paramus Rescue Squad. Due to budget constraints and the need for this training, the Paramus Volunteer Rescue Squad pays for all fees and costs associated with this training. This training is vital and beneficial for the safety of the people we help and protect.
In the past the Paramus Rescue Squad has entered National extrication competitions to perfect our skills and we are ranked in the top 10 teams in the Nation. These competitions, which are funded solely by your contributions, not only test our rescue abilities but also help us improve our expertise in all fields.
The Paramus Rescue Squad also accepts the donation of all types of motor vehicles. Donated vehicles are used for training purposes to further the knowledge of our members for dealing with various vehicles in accident scenarios. Vehicles are not resold or brokered. Your donation is tax deductible. For further information, please contact the number listed below.
Membership is always a primary concern. Any resident interested in joining as a regular or junior member (16 – 17 years of age) should contact us at 262-3400, extension 699 or stop by the Rescue building any Monday night from 7 pm to 9 pm for an application. Please see our website at www.paramusrescue.com for more details.
Please show your support by sending your tax-deductible donation in the enclosed self-addressed envelope. Your donation will allow us to continue to support you and the Borough of Paramus. 100% of your donation goes toward equipment; training and other Paramus Volunteer Rescue Squad, Inc. related activities.
