Bergen to Hold Presidential Inauguration, 4/8

Bergen Community College will inaugurate its fifth president, G. Jeremiah Ryan, on Tuesday, April 8, 2008 at 3:30 p.m. in the College's gymnasium. The public is invited to attend the ceremony.
Chairman of the College's Board of Trustees Stephen J. Moses will preside over the day's festivities. The inauguration ceremony will include a formal processional along with remarks from New Jersey Council of Community Colleges President Dr. Lawrence A. Nespoli, Bergen County Executive Dennis McNerney, Bergen County Freeholder Tomas J. Padilla and Faculty Senate President Alan Kaufman. The keynote address will feature civic leader and Somerset Patriots Chairman Steven Kalafer. President Ryan's inaugural address will follow the ceremonial passing of the College medallion and mace from former President Judith K. Winn.
President Ryan began his tenure as Bergen's top administrator in July 2007. Previously, he served as senior vice president of the Alman Group, Westfield, president and chief executive officer of Raritan Valley Community College, Somerville, and president and chief executive officer of Quincy College, Massachusetts. The president is a graduate of Hamilton College (A.B.), Stanford University (M.A.), the State University at Albany (M.S.) and Nova Southeastern University (Ed.D.).
