Music Director Murray Colosimo
The regionally-renowned Bergen Sinfonia led by Music Director Murray Colosimo will present "American & English Accents" on Sunday, April 27, 2008, at 3:00 p.m. in the Anna Maria Ciccone Theatre at Bergen Community College, 400 Paramus Road, Paramus.
Tickets are $16 for general admission, $14 for students and senior citizens (65+), and are available by calling 201-447-7428 or going online at www.tickets.bergen.edu. Seating is reserved so advanced ticket purchase is recommended.
The orchestra, comprised of leading musicians from the metropolitan area, will perform string masterworks from American and English composers. The program will include the rarely heard and magnificent "Downland Suite" by John Ireland, George Frideric Handel's famous "Concerto Grosso Op. 6, No. 1," George Gershwin's "Lullaby for Strings" and other works by Aaron Copland, Gustav Holst and Scott Joplin.
The performance is part of Bergen Community College's "This & That from Here & There" Performing Arts series and "Sunday Sounds: Classical, Jazz & World Music Matinees."
