Daniel Foley, of Mahwah, a senior managing director with Studley - an international commercial real estate firm - has donated $25,000 to Bergen Community College's "Civic Engagement Fund." The donation matches that of College President G. Jeremiah Ryan's own $25,000 pledge in February that established the Fund.
The Civic Engagement Fund facilitates efforts between civic leaders and the College, including: encouraging Bergen's students to serve their community through service learning; supporting the Fifth Friday Forum (a gathering of College officials and faculty and local civic and business leaders) and the Center for Suburban Criminal Justice; providing assistance to faculty performing civic-related research; and promoting the College as a venue for the discussion of national, state and local issues.
"When I first established the Civic Engagement Fund with my wife, Gail, it was my hope that others would support this worthy cause here at the College," President Ryan said. "Daniel Foley's pledge helps realize my goal. He is a trusted friend and enthusiastic philanthropist who has made a significant contribution to the College. I thank him for his support of education and the College."
After working with such companies as CB Richard Ellis and Motorola Communications, Mr. Foley co-founded Strategic Alliance Partners, LLC - a corporate real estate consulting firm - in 1993. In 2004, he merged his company with Studley. During his time at Studley he has represented many companies including Eisai Inc., Coca-Cola Enterprises, the Donna Karan Company and International Paper Company.
An accomplished executive, Mr. Foley has received many awards during his professional career. Most recently, he was recognized by the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors for the largest build-to-suit in New Jersey in 2007; with the Costar "Power Broker" award in 2006; the "Broker of the Year" award from ProLogis; and the "Deal of the Year" from Advance Realty in 2005.
