Throughout the day, the volunteers cleaned, painted, made repairs and installed a new floor in the living room area. Anthony and Sylvan volunteers also presented A Woman’s Place with a check for more than $1,400 that was raised from the company’s silent auction and weight loss challenge.
“We felt this was a wonderful way to support our community and help those in need,” said Jerry Strauss, vice president of Anthony & Sylvan Pools. “Through our sponsorship of the Chocolate Event Fundraiser and our own company-wide volunteer efforts, we hope we can make a difference in the lives of many local women.” The Corporate Volunteer of the Year Award was presented to Anthony & Sylvan employees at the Back 2 the 50’s Diner in Perkasie, PA.
A Woman’s Place provides comprehensive free, private and confidential service, support, education, outreach and advocacy to victims of domestic abuse and violence, along with their children and the community. Services include a free 24-hour confidential hotline, a full-service residential shelter, individual and group counseling, legal and medical assistance and a children’s program. The shelter is a member agency of the United Way.
