34th Annual Greek Festival at St. Athanasios starts Thursday

Greek Festival
The Parishioner's of St. Athanasios Greek Orthodox Church in Paramus, NJ have been busy preparing for their 34th Annual Greek Festival from Thursday, May 15, 2008, through Sunday, May 18, 2008. The Community of St. Athanasios has been a vital member of communities both Passaic and Bergen Counties since its founding in the 1920's in Paterson, NJ.
St. Athanasios Greek Orthodox Church houses several organizations, including the Ladies Philoptochos Society[attached pics. during a recent fundraiser], Hellenic Seniors[cooking], GOYA, JOY & HOPE, AHEPA[giving scholarships to local area youth], Daughter's of Penelope, Son's of Pericles, and Maids of Athena. The Church also sponsors an afternoon Greek Language School, classes in Greek Dancing, and Adult Greek Language Classes. Religious Education is offered on Sundays to children for children ages 2-18 years of age.
On Easter Sunday, at our “Agape” service[see attached pic], our youth read the Gospels in various foreign languages, including Arabic, Turkish, French, Russian, Latin, Romanian, Spanish, Italian and others.
Please, join us during this upcoming all-weekend event and enjoy the pleasures of our world famous cuisine, culture, music and hospitality. The festival will feature indoor and outdoor dining, and fun for the entire family, including; Gyro, Souvlaki, Baklava, Pastries, Wines, Church Tours, Vendors, Games, Super 50/50 Raffle, Live Greek Music, Octopus & Ouzo, Beer, Loukoumades, and Dancing in the Aisles. We will also be sponsoring our annual car raffle, in which the winner will win a BMW 328xi. A Business Lunch Special is being offered on May 15th and May 16th between 11 am and 2 pm. Take-out orders are accepted via fax to 201-368-9195 and credit cards are accepted.
