Hi everyone,
Thanks for letting me take the floor this morning to speak about my agency’s involvement in The Barclays golf tournament in August. This is an amazing opportunity for Children’s Aid and Family Services to raise money for the vulnerable children we serve. As part of our partnership to raise funds, I have been asked to recruit as many volunteers as possible. I am hoping you can help – either by volunteering yourself and/or forwarding this email to anyone else you feel may be interested.
Full details can be found on our website: http://www.cafsnj.org/events/pga-tour.html This provides a basic overview of what we’re seeking, descriptions of the various volunteer roles, and the volunteer application form. I am chairing the Ambassadors committee so am particularly seeking volunteers willing to do this task (basically greeting/saying goodbye, and being available to answer questions – a handbook and orientation are provided!), although we welcome volunteers to do any of the available tasks. Golfers may prefer to do something more directly related to the play, such as walking the course with players and helping with scoring, etc.
It is crucial that anyone signing up mentions Children’s Aid and Family Services as their affiliate – we have already put this on the form on our website. We are asking people to commit to three sessions (a full morning or afternoon during the week, or morning only on the weekend), since we are paying for their uniform and tournament pass, and there will be some wonderful gift bags as well as a thank you party provided by the PGA. We are trying to sign up the majority of our volunteers by the end of May.
If you have any questions or would like to talk this through, please give me a call on the number below. I will be on vacation during the last week of May so if you have any questions that week, please call our director of development, Madinah Grier, or my assistant, Donna Wittig.
I hope you can help!
Liz
