Grand Opening
With a grand opening scheduled in a month or so, Courtyard by Marriott opened very quietly in the afternoon. Mayor James Tedesco was present and welcomed General Manager Richard Haviland with a Mayoral Commendation. He wished them well and took a tour of the building.
This was the day that Route 17 South was backed up for miles because of a devastating accident on Rte. 17 and Essex Street. In turn this clogged auxiliary roads both east and west as well as south. A memorable day!
The hotel offers many amenities, a heated indoor swimming pool and whirlpool, exercise room, HDTV LCD televisions with cable, complimentary high speed Internet connection, WiFi, an outdoor gazebo, spacious guest rooms, full breakfast and a lobby with a warm feeling.[click her to see hotel amentities]
Ron Stewart from Marriott Corporate in Texas was on hand to assist where needed. He travels all over the country in this capacity. One of the perks he mentioned is that he gets to be the first to sleep in a brand new bed. Who would have thought of that?
Rich Haviland was most gracious. He took time out from his busy pre-opening schedule to discuss the thrust of their business. The game plan is to cater to business executives during the week and to wedding parties and galas on the weekend. That gazebo will sure come in handy.
