Bergen Regional Medical Center (BRMC) is responding to the reported shortage at local food collection centers by hosting a food drive at the hospital through the month of June.
Working with the Englewood, New Jersey-based Center for Food Action, BRMC will be collecting the following urgently needed items: low sugar cereal; peanut butter and jelly; canned meat and tuna; macaroni and cheese; canned fruit and vegetables; spaghetti sauce; 100% juice; diapers; infant formula and baby food; Ensure, and dental hygiene products.
The Center for Food Action provides more than 40,000 7-day emergency food packages for neighbors in need from 90 towns throughout Bergen County and upper Passaic Valley. Food is both collected and distributed locally.
Food collection at Bergen Regional Medical Center will begin on June 1st and continue until June 30th. Donated food items can be deposited in the Food Collection Box located outside between the main lobby entrance of BRMC and the entrance to the Outpatient Clinics.
"As a community minded hospital," said BRMC President Heather Aaron, "Bergen Regional Medical Center is proud to host this food drive and we urge members of our community to join our efforts and bring requested food items to our facility so that we can deliver them to the Center for Food Action."
Bergen Regional Medical Center is located at 230 East Ridgewood Avenue in Paramus, NJ. For more information, contact Donna Corrieri at 201-225-7141 or log onto www.bergenregional.com.
