State Fair Meadowlands due to open at Giants Stadium

June 26th to July 13th promises to be an exciting time for area residents and visitors. The State Fair Meadowlands www.njfair.com opens next Thursday and www.ParamusPost.com went down there to see what was happening. You, our readers, have a chance to see carnival rides as they look before they are set up. There are pictures of rides that will be erected in the following days before opening.I did notice on the brochure that my good friend, Doc Swan, will be there with his Variety Show. Be sure to tell him that Mel sends his regards. I see Doc every few years on the midway circuit. Another good friend, John Hofeditz was busy setting up his steel roller coaster and his crew was very occupied.
Amusements of America is providing the midway. One of their units played at the Westfield Garden State Plaza Shopping Center recently and the midway was abuzz when John Travolta visited there with his family. Perhaps John will come visit the Meadowlands function?
