Wings and Wheels Expo 2008 welcomes B-17 “Yankee Lady”

The B-17 “Yankee Lady” will be the highlight of the Wings and Wheels Expo at Teterboro Airport on Saturday, September 20 and Sunday, September 21.
The B-17 was the heavy bomber vital to winning World War II. From 1935 – 1945, more than 12,000 were built with close to 5,000 destroyed in combat. More than 60 years later, there are less than 12 B-17s still flying. Take advantage of this rare opportunity to tour this flying history museum on land or in the air, Opportunities for a “once in a lifetime” flights are available are available on Saturday and Sunday. This memorable flight travels the New York harbor with spectacular views of Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty. Information regarding the B-17 flights is available at www.njahof.org.
In addition to the B-17”Yankee Lady”, C-54 Skymaster, H-34 Helicopter, Ov-1 Mohawk and P-3Orion along with exotic and antique cars, motorcycles and military vehicles and a variety of general aviation aircraft will be featured. The Army Air Forces Historical Association, a group of living historians will be on hand to provide a tales of the harrowing experiences of World War II.
Teterboro Airport is at the intersection of Route 46 and Industrial Avenue. Teterboro Airport is the oldest operating airport in the New York/New Jersey Metropolitan Area, and has been owned and operated by The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey since 1949. The Expo will be held on Saturday, September 20 from 9 am – 5 pm and Sunday, September 21 from 9 am – 4pm. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for seniors and children under 12. Parking is free.
