Freedom Walk The sun was shining on Joey Rizzolo as he began the festivities for the 2nd Freedom Walk held at Bergen Community College. He must be doing something right because Hurricane Hanna rushed through the day before, flooding some areas, but disappeared in time for the Freedom Walk.
Joey can be proud of not only the intent of the walk, but the fact that he is keeping Paramus healthy. Hundreds of people showed up for the 2 mile trek. Mayor Tedesco said a few words, introduced the members of the Paramus Council, Assemblywoman Connie Wagner and the members of Joey's team. Pat Verile of PLV Entertainment provided the sound system and the DJ music.
The route was well protected by the Bergen County Police, the Paramus Police and BCC Security. A team of two scoutmasters led the walk carrying the American Flag and one other. Of course Mayor Tedesco was right there along with the Paramus Council, one of the sponsors of the event.
Bottles of water were plentiful as, upon their return, hot dogs supplied by Paramus Rescue Squad, Italian ices, fruit drinks and pizza. There were even inflatable's for the youngsters to frolic and enjoy.
Yes Joey, you are keeping Paramus healthy!
