Bergen Community College’s Division of Continuing Education, Corporate and Public Sector Training announces the creation of the “People’s Law School” program – courses (sessions) designed to educate students on legal matters that affect their daily lives. Each session will cover a different topic in the field of law. The slate of 10 sessions begins Sept. 16 with “Knowing Your Auto Insurance Policy” and continues throughout the fall 2008 semester. Students can enroll in as many sessions as they desire; those who complete all 10 sessions will receive a “People’s Law School” program certificate of completion. All sessions will be moderated by practicing attorney Christopher DiGirolamo. Most sessions will meet once; a few will meet twice. All sessions convene on Tuesday evenings from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sessions are $20 each or $150 for all 10.
The sessions offered are: Knowing Your Auto Insurance Policy, Municipal Court Law I, Municipal Court II, Social Security, Collection Law, Real Estate Law I, Real Estate Law II, Estate Planning, Workman’s Compensation Law and Starting My Own Business.
