Dr. G. Jeremiah Ryan, President of Bergen Community College, and Dr. William Pepicello, President of the University of Phoenix, recently signed a formal Transfer Articulation Agreement for the University of Phoenix's Bachelor of Science Degree in Management.
The current agreement is a renewal to the original agreement, which was signed in February 2002. All terms of the original agreement shall remain in effect.
Under the terms of the agreement, Bergen students who follow the prescribed degree pattern and earn an Associate in Arts Degree (A.A.) and Associate in Science Degree (A.S.) or related Associate in Applied Science Degrees (A.A.S.) will have completed credits toward the Bachelor of Science Degree (B.S.) at the University of Phoenix if they choose the same major of study.
The University of Phoenix will award between 57 to 72 credit hours from Bergen students who have earned one of the degrees outlined in the transfer agreement.
Bergen currently has 80 articulation agreements with more than 25 four-year colleges and universities and offers over 40 A.A. and A.S. transfer programs.
This transfer agreement was made possible due to the collaborative and cooperative efforts of faculty at Bergen Community College and the University of Phoenix.
Bergen Community College is a public two-year coeducational college, enrolling more than 15,000 students in Associate in Arts, Associate in Science, and Associate in Applied Science degree programs and certificate programs. More than 10,000 students are enrolled in non-credit, professional courses through the Division of Continuing Education, the Institute for Learning in Retirement, the Philip J. Ciarco Jr. Learning Center, located at 355 Main Street, Hackensack, and Bergen at the Meadowlands, located at 1280 Wall Street West, Lyndhurst.
