"The Exonerated" to be Staged at Bergen Community College, 10/31-11/9

"The Exonerated," the truthful story of six wrongfully convicted survivors on death row, will be performed at the Ender Hall Lab Theatre at Bergen Community College, 400 Paramus Road, Paramus, on Friday, October 31; Saturday, November 1; Friday, November 7; and Saturday, November 8; at 7:30 p.m. Matinees will be performed on Sunday, November 2; Saturday, November 8; and Sunday, November 9; at 3:00 p.m. Tickets are $10 for general admission and $7 for students and seniors (65+) and are available by calling Bergen's Office of Community and Cultural Affairs at 201-447-7428 or visit them on the Web at www.bergen.edu/cca
"The Exonerated," written by Jessica Blank and Erik Jensen, depicts six survivors, who were on death row for crimes they did not commit. They were later cleared of their crimes and freed after varying years of imprisonment. Their interwoven stories paint the picture of how the American justice system can go terribly wrong.
Following the Friday, November 7 performance, there will be a panel discussion comprised of distinguished Bergen faculty members and criminal justice experts, who will discuss the topics of capital punishment and the criminal justice system. This discussion will take place in the Ender Hall Lab Theatre; the public is invited to attend.
