Bergen Regional Medical Center (BRMC) will offer flu shots at its community health fair on Saturday, October 25. The event, which will feature free screenings and information about BRMC’s large range of services, will take place between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. The vaccines are available to those 65 and older with Medicare Part B and to adults ages 18-64 for $25 paid by cash or check
Also available at the fair will be free blood pressure and blood glucose screenings as well as free lung volume tests and other screenings and educational information. There will be give-a-ways for all those who attend and light refreshments will be served.
“There are so many services that the Medical Center offers that people are unaware of,” said Heather Aaron, President of BRMC. “We are happy to open our doors and invite the public to learn what they may not know about Bergen Regional and more importantly, offer some very important health screenings, tests and educational information to our community.”
In addition to information about the hospital’s outpatient clinical services and other acute offerings, medical center representatives will be available to talk about Bergen Regional’s Long Term Care and Behavioral Health Services. As October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, National Depression and Mental Health Month and National Family Health Month, information and services related to these important topics will be featured at the health fair as well.
Bergen Regional is New Jersey’s largest hospital and offers a full service Emergency Department and clinical services in the following fields: Allergy; Cardiac; ENT (Ear, Nose and Throat); GI (Gastro-Intestinal); GU (Genito-Urinary); Gynecological; Hematology; Infectious Disease; Medical; Nephrology; Neurology; Ophthalmology; Orthopedic; Pain Management; Podiatry; Pulmonary; Rheumatology; Surgical and Vascular.
Additionally, BRMC has the largest licensed nursing home on site and a well-respected behavioral health program that offers both inpatient and outpatient services as well as Child/Adolescent, Adult and Geriatric programs.
