Bergen at the Meadowlands Plans Winter Session

This January, Bergen Community College at the Meadowlands, located at 1280 Wall Street West, Lyndhurst, will offer a “winterim” session for students looking to earn three credits toward their degree in a truncated amount of time (14 days).
Credits earned from the three-credit general education courses offered – such as General Psychology and English Composition I – are guaranteed to transfer to all New Jersey colleges and universities; many other institutions across the country will accept the credits earned as well. Students can enroll in up to nine credits (three courses) during the winterim session.
“Our winterim session will enable students on winter break from other colleges and universities to attend Bergen Community College at the Meadowlands and receive credit for various courses,” Bergen at the Meadowlands director Ron Milon said. “We welcome our current Bergen Community College students to enroll in these convenient, affordable courses as well. The aggressive, yet comprehensive, schedule represents an excellent chance for students to complete a semester’s worth of work in 14 days.”
The winterim session begins Monday, January 5, 2009 and will continue through Friday, January 23, 2009. Classes will meet every day (Monday - Friday) for three hours and 20 minutes per day. The College will be closed on Monday, January 19, 2009 (Martin Luther King Jr. Day). The following represents the complete winterim course schedule:

Bergen at the Meadowlands encompasses over 14,000 square feet of space in a Lyndhurst office complex. Ten classrooms – including two fully-equipped with high technology capabilities; a state-of-the-art conference room; and a cafeteria highlight the site’s amenities. The leased space represents the first phase of the College’s entry into the Meadowlands market – a full-scale campus will be built in the Meadowlands Sports and Exposition Complex in the near future. Credit-bearing courses began October 6 at Bergen at the Meadowlands; non-credit-bearing and professional development courses are offered as well. In less than three months, over 700 students have enrolled for courses at the facility.
Bergen Community College is a public two-year coeducational college, enrolling more than 15,000 students in Associate in Arts, Associate in Science, and Associate in Applied Science degree programs and certificate programs. More than 10,000 students are enrolled in non-credit, professional courses through the Division of Continuing Education, the Institute for Learning in Retirement, the Philip J. Ciarco Jr. Learning Center, located at 355 Main Street, Hackensack, and Bergen at the Meadowlands, located at 1280 Wall Street West, Lyndhurst.
