Children’s Flu Vaccination Day (Tuesday, December 9), a part of the Centers for Disease Control

Prevention’s National Influenza Vaccination Week (December 8-14), highlights importance of protecting children with vaccination in December and beyond

Childhood Influenza Immunization Coalition Resources & Experts Available

With the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) pediatric influenza vaccination recommendation expanded to now include all children 6 months through 18 years of age, your readers and Web site visitors may have questions about who should be vaccinated, when they should be vaccinated and how they can seek vaccination for their children and entire family.
The National Foundation for Infectious Disease’s Childhood Influenza Immunization Coalition (CIIC) can coordinate interviews with medical/public health experts and offer multi-media online resources to help answer questions, such as:

Why is it important for children to get the flu vaccine?
Should I be vaccinated as well as my child/children?
Should people with chronic medical conditions (e.g., asthma, diabetes) be vaccinated against influenza?

And dispel common myths such as:

Myth: You can get the flu from a flu vaccine.
Myth: My child is too young to get vaccinated.
Myth: The flu vaccine doesn’t work.

Videos & B-Roll Available Online

Expert sound-bites and influenza-related footage such as a broadcast quality b-roll package and a 2+ minute feature video are available at http://www.prnewswire.com/mnr/ciic/34896/. (Directions for embedding videos on your Web site are available.)
