You are Cordially Invited to Attend Allendale Community for Mature Living at The Atrium was an invitation received from Mary Stampleman and Jeffrey Warren to attend their Holiday Gala. www.ParamusPost.com handles a lot of PR for them sent to us by Alena Miller and Christine Ziomek of Caryl Communications as well as their president, Caryl Bixon-Gordon.It was there that Mary, Elana, Chris and I met for the first time. Caryl is a brand new member of the Paramus Sunrise Rotary Club; we had met. Elana and Chris are contemplating joining the Rotaract Club that is now being formed in Paramus. The proposed canoe trip in May seems to have tickled their fancy.
A Night At Allendale
You have heard the opening "It was a dark and rainy night." Well, it was a dark and rainy night the evening of the Holiday Gala. However, we were looking forward to a delicious buffet dinner, music and entertainment by Uncle Floyd. They were all good; the efforts worthwhile!Founded by Dr. Hector Giancarlo 40 years ago, it continues to reflect his personal philosophy of “family first” in caring for seniors in a warm, friendly style which has earned it a reputation for professionalism, innovation and accessibility.
Uncle Floyd Vivino, a veteran entertainer was able to capture his audience; told jokes like Whoop Goldberg and Soupy Sales were sitting at opposite ends of a restaurant. He brought them together and introduced them: Whoopi meet Soupy, Soupy meet Whoopi, Whoopi meet Soupy!
He was able to bring Dr. Giancarlo to the microphone and although he couldn’t get the good doctor to perform, he did pay tribute to a man who accomplished the task of starting and getting the Allendale Community for Mature Living to function for these 40 years. One of the residents came up to the microphone and also gave Dr. Giancarlo accolades.
